Job Summary

The Compensation and Benefits Consultant will be responsible for selling and delivering consulting projects focused on compensation & benefits design, human resources compliance consulting, etc.  This role will work independently under minimum supervision to handle all client-facing engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, sell and deliver compensation projects to small and median market clients; Project types include base salary structure design, compensation & benefits compliance management, share-based compensation plan design, sales incentive scheme, etc.;

  • Design share-based compensation plan, such as stock option, restricted stock, restricted stock units, etc. for startup companies;

  • Collect and analyze external data from proxy statement (Form DEF 14A) to generate market practice reports;

  • Work with external CPA firms to do 409A valuation process for clients; Work with external lawyers to draft stock plan agreement for clients;

  • Ensure client companies compliant with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements;

  • Evaluate client companies’ internal policies regarding occupational classifications and salary scales;

  • Advise employee insurance, pension, and savings plans, working with insurance brokers and plan carriers; Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies;

  • Analyze organizational, occupational, and industrial data to facilitate organizational functions and provide technical information to clients;

 

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree of business, finance, economics related major; Advanced degree, e.g. MBA, focusing on business, finance or economics is preferred;

  • More than 3 years of working experience in compensation consulting; Successful project experience of complex salary structure design / incentive management with multi-national companies;

  • Familiar with U.S. employment regulation, accounting and taxation requirement; CFA candidate is a plus;

  • Strong quantitative background; highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, SPSS, etc.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; A customer-service orientation and “can-do” attitude;

  • Professional certificate, e.g. SPHR, is preferred;

  • Bilingual ability is highly valued;

  • Identify, sell and deliver HR projects to small and median market clients; Project types HR policy design, HR procedure optimization suggestion and other hands-on solutions, etc.;

  • Ensure client companies compliant with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements;

  • Evaluate client companies’ internal policies regarding occupational classifications and salary scales;

  • Advise employee insurance, pension, and savings plans, working with insurance brokers and plan carriers; Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies;

  • Analyze organizational, occupational, and industrial data to facilitate organizational functions and provide technical information to clients;

  • More than 1 years of working experience in human resources management;

  • Familiar with U.S. employment regulation;
